Rotary Club of Albury Hume member Peter Lees made the long drive to Bowral to hand over three cricket equipments kits to Special Olympics (SO) Southern Highlands at Bradman.
The kits include cricket bats, pads and helmets.
The gear was specifically donated to be used by Highlands children living with special needs.
Lees said he was proud to donate the equipment to the SO organisation.
“It was close to a five-hour drive today, but it was worth it,” he said.
The donation was made possible courtesy of a relationship between the Albury Hume and Bowral-Mittagong Rotary clubs.
Lees was looking to donate some cricket gear and contacted Bowral-Mittagong Rotary Club member Ken Adams.
Adams, who is also secretary of DreamCricket, suggested the local SO organisation could benefit from some assistance.
SO Southern Highlands representative Ange Clarke thanked Lees for the donation.
Clarke said the equipment would be used by members of the Highlands cricket community.
“Anyone looking to use this equipment can call me on 0427 110 968,” she said.
