North Nowra Cambewarra U/14 Maroons player, Angus Lowbridge has the honour of achieving the district’s first “five for” for the 2015-2016 season. Angus was part of the winning Maroons team in their round one match played at Bernie Regan oval against the Ex-Servicemans/Bay and Basin team.

The NNCCC Specsaver Maroons won the toss and captain Rhys Burinaga had no hesitation electing to bat first. Openers Harrison Graham and Alex Parsons got off to a flying start hitting up 30 and 20 respectively with Harrison remaining not out. Captain Burinaga was next at the crease and was in fine form hitting with strength and accuracy and also remained not out (retired) on 38.

At the end of the 50 overs, Norths amassed a very competitive 193.

Day 2 at Bernie saw some cooler weather and the team was keen to start their defence. Lowbridge opened the bowling and was successful in his first over with Burinaga taking a great catch as wicket keeper. Runs were hard to come by for the opposition and Lowbridge struck again with the last ball of his second over, with a great ball that removed the bails. Lowbridge continued his good form throughout the remainder of the oppositions innings, knocking over the stumps twice more plus having new keeper Sebastian Jeffrey take a catch. He finished with the figures of 5/5 off 6 overs, including 3 maidens.
