It’s alleged on Tuesday, September 29, a 45-year-old man was confronted while allegedly trespassing at a station not far from Cobar.

The man, who was near a temporary livestock yard at the time, left the area after arguing with those who confronted him.

The matter was reported to police from Darling River Local Area Command.

On Tuesday, October 20, detectives attended an address in Canonba, about 35km north of Nygan where they arrested a 45-year-old man and seized cultivated cannabis plants.

Following a search of the home, officers seized a rifle and ammunition, cannabis and prescription medication.

The man was charged with seven offences relating to illegal hunting; trespass, illegal game hunting on public land, intimidation, using an unregistered trailer on road, using an unregistered vehicle on road and the cultivation of prohibited plants.

He was refused bail and appeared before Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday, where bail was again refused.

The man is next due to appear before Nyngan Local Court on Wednesday, December 2.
