Wet and windy conditions have sent a shiver through the Illawarra, but better weather is heading ourway for the weekend.
Although scatteredshowers made their presence feltacross the region on Thursday, the Bellambi Point weather station recordedjust 3.6 millimetres between 9am and 6pm.
Inland,4.4 millimetres fellover the Bureau of Meteorology’sAlbion Park rain gauge during the same period.
Temperatures peaked early in the day, withmaximums of 19.8 degrees on the coast and 21.3 degrees inland recorded just after 10am.
While it won’t be as wet, clouds are set to linger over the regiononFriday.
Aslight chance of a shower is forecast along the coastal fringe, but there’s a near zero chance elsewhere.
The sun should make a welcome return on the weekend, with partly cloudy conditions expected on Saturday and Sunday.After a mild top of 19 in Wollongong on Friday, temperatures will gradually climb to 26 degrees by Monday.
Next week is likely to bring more showers and storms.
